I’ve been doing a lot of vibe coding lately (a series which I’ll post here as soon as I’ve got some results!)
I’ve also been exploring any and every AI I can get my hands on so that I can make sure I’ve got a steady stream of content for you folks! So let’s talk about ASIM, but just before that if you’re not already subbed to my posts, then be sure to click below (it’s totally free!)
After trying out ASIM, it’s hard not to be impressed. It’s one of those rare apps that actually does what it promises. You describe an idea, and within minutes, you're looking at a working app built with AI. No code required.
At first it feels like a fun little experiment. But pretty quickly, it starts to feel like something more powerful. ASIM uses a combination of top AI models like Gemini 2.5, Claude 3.7 Thinking, and O3 Mini High to generate fully functional React Native apps that work on both iOS and Android.
And maybe the best part? It’s completely free. No subscriptions, no ads, and nothing locked behind a paywall.
More about the App
The app itself is clean and fast. Right on the home screen, there’s a big prompt box where you can type in your idea. Something like “a weather app that gives mood-based outfit suggestions” or “a minimalist productivity tracker.” Then you just click Create Sim, and the AI takes it from there.
You can also browse existing ideas with the Use an idea button, which helps if you’re stuck or just curious about what others are building.
Below that, there’s a scrollable feed of user-generated apps, called Sims. These are presented almost like cards; with preview screens, user tags, and quick stats on views, likes, and remixes. Some are fun experiments like "Bad weather", a slick-looking forecast app, while others are throwbacks like "Tic Tac Toe" or early-stage assistant tools like "Nova". Clicking into them opens a full working version of the app in a simulated environment.
Everything feels polished and community-driven. The Sims are tagged into categories like Games, AI Assistants, Image Generation, Productivity, Entertainment, and more — making it easy to explore different types of builds.
Like Roblox for Apps
ASIM draws easy comparisons to platforms like Roblox, but instead of building games, you’re building actual mobile apps. And unlike game engines or no-code tools, this is much more accessible. You don’t need to drag blocks or design UIs yourself — just describe what you want, and the AI assembles the rest.
You can keep your Sims private, share them with friends, or publish them to the public feed. Every Sim you create becomes a small, functional app that you can explore or iterate on later.
Free, Ad-Free, and Focused on Creation
One of the most refreshing parts of ASIM is that it’s completely free. There are no ads, no locked features, and no annoying upsells. It’s clear that the platform was designed to encourage creativity without adding friction.
It’s also not trying to be a social media app or a marketplace. It’s simply a place to build, explore, and share.
The Only Catch: Login Required
Originally, sim generation didn’t require any sign-in. But after being hit with a major DDoS attack, the team had to implement phone number authentication. It’s not ideal, but it helps prevent abuse while keeping the service fast and available. The team has acknowledged this and is working on alternatives.

Final Thoughts
ASIM is more than just an AI experiment. It’s a pretty chilled out way of creating software, one where the barrier to entry is as low as typing out a sentence.
Whether you want to build your own tools, remix someone else’s idea, or just see what AI can come up with, ASIM is one of the most approachable platforms I’ve found out there.
It’s early, but the potential here is obvious.
